About Toto
The band Toto was formed in 1976 by guitarists Jeff Porcaro and David Paich (who were also well-known studio musicians with Boz Scaggs at the time) as well as bassist/singer Bobby Kimball. The name comes from the Latin word which means "all inclusive," the group was intent on exploring every style of music.
In 1981 Toto's third album Turn Back is a failure, but they rebound with their fourth album Isolation that features two hits including the title track and Roseanna. The album and tour make them a household name around the world.
After a brief hiatus, Toto returns with the album Fahrenheit. The album is a departure from the ballads on previous albums and includes some heavy rock. This was their first platinum album in North America.
